Sad News

APOO: I am very sad to announce the possible ending of this short-lived blog. DMSC has just gave notice that with the bad economy, he cannot afford to eat out every Friday anymore. I guess that is the case for a lot of people too, including me. However, I cannot help but think that maybe DMSC doesn't like IG and I anymore and decided to split (and I am not joking, I really think that). This sad news has come with several others that are all making my day more and more gloomy. I am even contemplating on leaving work now...yes, I get emotional sometimes.

For me, there is one reason why canceling Friday lunch is most saddening and it has nothing to do with not having anything to look forward to every week. You see, the three of us barely talk at work during the week. Friday lunch is a time for us to spill all our frustrations and other matters we experience during the week, work or non-work related. In a way, our friendship builds upon every interesting or boring conversation we have during these lunches. Without them, I am afraid our bond will slowly fade. It's just like not being best friends with your old roommate anymore. Now that I have expressed how special these lunches mean to me, I am a little angry that it ended so quickly, literally in three sentences. [shaking fist...GRRR!!!]

I too am saddened to hear your blog may come to an end. I look forward to your restaurant reviews and awesome photos of great looking eats (and not so awesome-maggots in rice) but most of all, your good spirited banter.

As one who lives so far away from Hawaii, I live vicariously through the enjoyment others generously share through their (mainly food) blogs. Your's will be missed.

Maybe you can change the blog name to "What's in my brown bag today?" and feature your home lunches?

Thanks you three for some very entertaining reading.

aw, sad. I agree with B, it's been nice for someone who's so far away to live vicariously through you and experience good and even scary eats in Honolulu.

Yeah, do home lunches! Or once a month eat-outs.

We'll miss reading about your lunch adventures!
